What are Withdrawal behaviours?

Withdrawal behaviours are employee behaviours including increased absenteeism, turnover and submitting workers’ compensation claims – behaviours that are experienced as a withdrawal from the workplace and/or work. Research indicates that such behaviours are more strongly influenced by low levels of morale (for example, lack of energy, enthusiasm and pride) than the presence of distress.
